人人期望有一天 這個世界充滿愛 人人如像天使 相親與相愛 人人期望有一天 這個世界充滿著愛 人人和睦相處 不需要比賽 A simple song probably meant for kids. its too idealistic and jaded. and i don't like it a single bit. but it did get some sparks going in my head. i grew up thinking that there can be a world like this. but now i know such a world will never exist. even if we are thrown into such a place, it cannot be sustained. there cannot be no competition in this world, or else we will become stagnant. and as long as there is competition, there can never be true peace nor harmony. competition isn't just about being the best or being better than the rest. it's also about fighting to not be last and to stay alive or to simply get by. when there is a winner, there is also a loser. someone has to die or lose in every battle. the point isn't about avoiding competition and complain about the rat race, but to accept the results with humility. fighting and winning feels good, but having the humility to swallow my pride and try again is so much more difficult. there used to be a time when i questioned myself constantly on my purpose in this world. i guess many of us all go through this stage, wondering whether we are all just going to join the rat race. or how we can avoid being just like any other tom, dick or harry. my own conclusion: its unavoidable. period. i don't know what i'm ultimately fighting for, but i know i won't settle for anything just average. last work day of 2011. 虽然有很多事我还是想不通也还没解决，但我很不舍得2011。因为我想很难会有一年可以比今年更好，更顺利. of course i hope 2012 will only get better. |
