the hijack incident in manila which left 8 hk tourists dead has left a large impact on me. how easy people we love and take for granted can be taken away just like that. a holiday which turned so bad. those whom i saw alive on tv were dead a few hours later and their last few hours were played life on tv all over the world. a pair of kids lost their parents, a family of 5 was reduced to a mother and the son still unconscious in intensive care now, looking at the 8 bodies waiting to board the flight home, the photos are really upsetting..
maybe because it was reported very extensively on tvb and on the hk radio which i listen to all the time. and maybe it was the way the Philippines swat team handled the situation. a big joke. but more than ever, i've seen how all the hk people can stand united. this is what touches me most. despite all the demonstrations and ridiculous demands we hear on the news all the time, hk people are still together as one.
although i never went to sch in hk, never had the chance to lead a normal life there, there is where i still call home. and i'm envious of every single hk student who has the chance to grow up in that place.
